The holiday homes of "Bonsejour" are situated in the Combrailles in the departement Puy de Dôme in the region Auvergne North West of its capital Clermont-Ferrand. It is a region with wide pastures, hills, mountains, forests, lakes, idyllic small streams and waterfalls and clean air. Above all it is peaceful and quiet. In the Auvergne you'll find the largest volcano area of Europe, 2 national parcs, more than 500 Roman churches, about 50 castles and also several villages with thermal baths.
The Combrailles offers a variety of pinewood and hardwood forests in which you can walk for hours. Small, winding creeks, picturesque villages and characteristic farmhouses. The river Sioule has carved out the gorges to great depths and has formed beautiful meanders. In the continuation of the Sioule you can find a large storage reservoir called "Les Fades Beserve". The Combrailles is situated nearby the "Parc Régional Naturel des Volcans d'Auvergne. The park encompasses about 80 old volcano's of which the Puy-de-Dôme is the most important. [Elevation 4.803 ft.]. At the foot of the Puy-de-Dôme you'll find the amusement park "Vulcania". The attractions there are fun and dearing but also instructive.
There are also lots of possibilities to have an activ holiday. You can go horsebackriding, [mountain]biking, walking, [fly]fishing on trout, hang-gliding, canoeing, kayaking and in winter you can go skiing or practise ski cross-country up in the mountains of the Massif Central. Lovers of golf can practise their passion on one of the 15 golf courses in the area.
